Because he was the first person   who cross Antarctic and none of   the people he went with died. He   never give ups and he led three   ship three times the first one he got   to antarctic but he did cross   antarctic. The second one he got   to antarctic and he almost, almost   cross antarctic but he did because   their was freezing badly so he   came  back.The third one he cross   antarctic.
